VISION Group signed a contract with ARCELOR MITTAL for the supply of two E-houses and automation systems for Mina do Andrade expansion, located on João Monlevade, MG. The biggest E-house is going to be over 200 square meters area supplied with over 120 columns between low and high tension, and automation is going to have over 1500 field signals, being part of the scope even separate panels for instalation in existing rooms and automation panels for outdoor application.

Besides electrical equipment, inherent to process, VISION stand-alone E-houses count with acclimatization and redundant pressurizing systems, fire  detection and fire alarm system (SDAI), normal and emergency lighting system, SPDA (system of protection against atmospheric discharges), IP telephony system, among other systems and subsystems.

Supplied electrical system is embedded through IEC 61850 network, whereas triggering are integrated through Ethernet IP network and controlled under general plant control system.

Automation system follows SCADA (System Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) philosophy and is integrated to existing control system in plant. Far-flung outdoor application panels are to be supplied, as long as CLP (programmable logic controller) panels, TI/TA equipment with 19” rack, engineering and operation stations, comissioning, startup, assisted operation, and maintenance and operation training.

Today Mina do Andrade produces 1,5 million ton a year, directed to ARCELOR MITTAL Monlevade, for manufacturing of long steel. VISION solutions are going to be part of the project that raises lifespan and quality of Mina do Andrade’s ore driven to Itabirito’s improvement plant.
