VISION group signs 500kV supply contract for CEMIG

The São Simão 500kV Substation is part of the São Simão hydroelectric complex that is located between the state of Minas Gerais and Goiás on the Paranaíba river. The São Simão HPP was founded in 1978 and operates six turbines with a generation capacity of 1,710 MW, enough to supply a city of 6 million inhabitants or two and a half times the population of the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte. The mill, which formerly belonged to CEMIG, is now owned by the Pacific Hydro company of the Chinese group SPIC, and was sold for 7.18 billion reais at an auction promoted by the Federal Government in 2017.
