The VISION Group supplied an Electrocentre for the Bulk Sorting project at the Barro Alto Nickel Mine in Goiás. Bulk Sorting screens the material that is most important for the operation, using less energy and generating less slag.
Bulk Sorting is an innovation that is part of ANGLO AMERICAN’s Future Smart Mine strategy. This project combines new types of sensors, data analysis and Machine Learning to provide, even at the beginning of the operations process, a continuous optimization of transport, ore concentration and the separation of residues present in the material, this generates great savings, with significant reductions in both water and energy.
The VISION Electrocentro, like the entire Bulk Sorting project, is mobile, that is, it was manufactured to allow and facilitate transport. Several international standards had to be met so that it can be installed in the future, if necessary, in other countries.
With a size of 45 m², the VISION Eletrocentro comprises an operating room, automation room, panel room and transformer room. In addition, inside it is: Power Transformer, Low Voltage MCC, generator for night use, field load socket panel (preventing access to the MCC cable compartment for connectorization) and PLC panel (with connected IOs) to multipolar industrial sockets).
